The 2025…and 2026 Calendars

UPDATE: Delighted to say that my 2026 calendar is featured in The Guardian’s gift guide for Christmas 2025, but they have linked to this post which was originally about the 2025 calendar – you don’t want that, you want the 2026 one! So I’ve added this to the original post. The shop links are the same.

You can buy the 2026 calendar here:

Meanwhile the original post that occupied this space is below…..

The 2025 calendar

I’ve finished it!
I set myself up for a lot of work with this calendar. To be fair, it’s always a lot of work, but late last year, becoming a little tired of drawing on a tablet and a lot tired of seeing so much about AI created pictures… I was inspired to go back to working on real paper with real pencils… and I haven’t looked back all year. It meant that I began late in creating this crop of drawings, and each one took much longer than digital drawings would have, and I had to make some discoveries along the way …and I completely loved it.

And there was another change: for some reason that may have had to do with the freedoms and limits of working within a real space again, almost every one of the drawings insisted on coming out square. This meant if I continued with my usual format of a square calendar I would have no room for any text, and I know some of you really like the text, or so you tell me. So the whole thing is bigger: It’s A4 size folded, and opens out to a long calendar 210 x 594mm or 8.25 x 22.5 inch.

Of course it’s finished with calendar grids laid out by hand again, with a little moon of the right shape for each night. And it contains much silliness and faffing and a couple of stories involving pants. It’s been a labour of love – again – and I hope you enjoy it!

Pictures below feature Clevedon, the Lake District and also a very silly swim at Poole
