Absolutely delighted to be interviewed by Jonathan Cowie for the January Issue of Outdoor Swimmer! Thank you Jonathan for a really lovely write-up too, which features artwork, cold water, friends… the correct protocol of NOT swimming immediately… and the not insignificant amount of cat-interruptions which punctuated the interview.
If you want to read it all, you can buy it here: https://www.outdoorswimmershop.com/collections/outdoor-swimmer/products/outdoor-swimmer-magazine-creativity
There’s also lots of pictures, including many of our Monday Faffers… several of us highly adept at NEVER swimming immediately… and some of the lovely swimmers I know in Cumbria too.
I think I will just leave you with the last paragraph of the interview, because it’s the time of year when people like to make resolutions, so perhaps, I hope, something you can expect to see from me:
“Her resolution is to do more drawing on paper: ‘you can perfect it too much drawing digitally. it’s almost as if you’ve overthought it’ there is a rawness in the pencil drawing that reflects the rawness of the experience of swimming in the winter and celebrates the joy that outdoor swimming brings us”
